1. Scope and purpose

This Privacy Policy explains how StartupChad collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit the site, create an account, upload materials, invite collaborators, or otherwise use the service.

StartupChad is designed for founders working on accelerator and startup program applications. Because those materials can include sensitive company information, this policy is written to explain both the personal information associated with users and the workspace content users choose to store inside the service.

2. Information StartupChad collects

Depending on how you use the service, StartupChad may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information, such as your name, email address, avatar, and login details.
  • Workspace information, such as startup profile details, founder bios, traction data, application answers, comments, approval states, and review notes.
  • Uploaded materials, such as PDFs, pasted notes, raw text, and other source documents you provide for drafting or extraction workflows.
  • Communications, such as support requests, legal notices, and messages you send to StartupChad.
  • Usage and technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and diagnostic logs used to operate and secure the service.

3. Sources of information

StartupChad collects information from a small number of clear sources:

  • Directly from you when you sign up, edit a workspace, upload materials, or contact the service.
  • From teammates, collaborators, or reviewers you invite into a shared workspace.
  • From files, text, and source materials you choose to import into the service.
  • Automatically from your browser or device when you access or use the site.

4. How StartupChad uses information

StartupChad uses collected information to operate the product and provide the workflows described on the site.

  • Create and maintain user accounts, organizations, workspaces, and permissions.
  • Store startup profile information, application drafts, comments, uploads, and approvals.
  • Support drafting, critique, extraction, and collaboration features requested by users.
  • Secure the service, monitor performance, detect abuse, and troubleshoot errors.
  • Respond to customer support inquiries, product notices, legal notices, and policy updates.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of StartupChad and its users.

StartupChad may use service providers and tooling needed to host the product, process uploads, deliver collaboration features, and support AI-assisted drafting or analysis. Those providers may process information only on StartupChad's behalf and under appropriate contractual or operational restrictions.

5. When information is disclosed

StartupChad does not treat your workspace as public by default. Information may be disclosed only in limited circumstances:

  • To service providers that help host, secure, analyze, or support the product.
  • To collaborators, teammates, or reviewers when you intentionally invite or share material with them.
  • To comply with law, regulation, court order, or valid legal process.
  • To investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or threats to users or the service.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and transition protections.

As of the last updated date above, StartupChad is not designed as an advertising-supported service and is not intended to sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If those practices change, StartupChad will update this policy and provide any notices or controls required by law before the change takes effect.

6. Retention

StartupChad retains personal information and workspace content for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and auditability, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.

Retention periods can vary based on the type of information, the sensitivity of the material, whether an account remains active, and whether StartupChad must preserve certain records for legal, security, or operational reasons.

7. Security

StartupChad uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to help protect personal information and confidential workspace content. Those measures may include access controls, authentication controls, logging, scoped sharing, and vendor management practices appropriate to the service.

No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their own credentials, limit sharing to trusted collaborators, and avoid uploading information they do not have the right to provide.

8. User rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may be able to request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal information.

You may also be able to update certain account details directly, manage collaboration access inside workspaces, or ask StartupChad to review a request tied to a specific account or workspace.

To submit a privacy request, email support@supportchad.com. StartupChad may need to verify your identity or authority before completing certain requests.

9. California privacy rights

California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, including rights to know, delete, correct, and receive information about the categories of personal information collected and the purposes for which it is used.

StartupChad may collect identifiers, account details, internet or network activity, professional or employment-related information you choose to provide, and workspace content associated with startup applications and collaboration. StartupChad uses those categories to provide the service, secure the platform, communicate with users, and comply with legal obligations.

California residents may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request where permitted by law. StartupChad will not unlawfully discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights. Requests may be sent to support@supportchad.com.

10. Children’s privacy

StartupChad is not directed to children under 13, and the service is intended for adult founders, operators, and collaborators. StartupChad does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to StartupChad, contact support@supportchad.com so the information can be reviewed and addressed.

11. Changes to this policy

StartupChad may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, operational changes, legal requirements, or risk-management needs.

When material changes are made, StartupChad will update the last updated date at the top of the policy and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
